Introduction

The station was established 1998 by his Majesty the Late King Hussein-may his soul rest in peace. The total area is about 1000 hectares. This research, teaching and training station is located in the western part of Jordan extending from southwest Kufr Huda to King Abdullah Canal in the Jordan Valley with elevations ranging from -200 m below sea level at King Abdullah Canal, to 400m above sea level in the northern part, thus the station’s climate could be divided into two main types according to the topography: the highland and Jordan Valley areas.

The station has a unique ecosystem and vegetation; it allows planting tropical species at King Abdullah Canal and subtropical species at the northern parts. Fruit tree species of both high and low chilling hours are planted in the station. In addition, a survey indicated that 106 species belonging to 91 genera and 23 families were recorded in the station.
