the collage is situsted in Allan on area of about ahundred of donums .Allan is eight Kilometers north to Salt , Balqa Governorate.It is ahilly and rural area ,thirty five kilometers from Amman. The surroundings are forestal covered with oak and pine trees. It is also famous for olive trees and grape forms, which gives it beautiful natura scenery. The climatee is temperate either in summer or in winter.
It was established in 1965 by the ministry of social welfare aided by the United nations under the name of the institute of jordanian Social work with the specialty of social work as the only one to be taught then for the diploma level.
In 1982 and because of the kingdoms needs to provide special education , the institute added special education at the diploma level toserve people of special needs.
In 1991 and for development and economic reasons , the college was moved from its site in Amman to its present one in Allan.
When Balaqa Applied University was established / founded by aHasemite generosity of the forgiven late king Hussein ,the collage was affiliated to this university . It pursued its high level track with a constant support by the university presidency.
As a result of this support was its naming as princess Rahmeh University Collage to suit the programs being performed at the university and the diploma levels.The college currently the bachelor and the diploma degrees in the given speciltiesof Social Work and Special Education.
By God,s willing such accomplishments were realized:
1- Computerization of registration and library.
2- Holding seminars and workshops in computer and internet for the staff.
3- Introducing the internet and computer to the computer to the computer labs and the offices of the staff and librarians
Objectives
The college aims achieve the fowllowing:
1. Preparing social al workers and teachers of special education for the public and private sectors.
2. Training workers in social and educational sciences through training courses and specialized techical workshops to equip them with necessary information and skills
3. Provision of university study in social and encouraging research.
4. Serving local community and contributing to its development and cooperation with it, needless to say that college specialties focus on serving the whole society and all its classes.
5. Cooperation with state, private and international universities through experience ,exchange in social fields
Strategy:
In accordance with the university general goals , the college aims to accomplished the following:-
1- Granting scholarships to members of the staff to get graduate degrees (Ph.Ds) in social work and special education from specialized universities inside and outside Jordan.
2- Developing academic programs and curricula and upgrading these programs in level quality and expanding their domains according to the needs and requirements of the Jordanian society.
3- Promotion of the staff to face be able to tackle the new requrements through participating in conferences ,seminars and local workshops.
4-rehabilating the college building and improving readiness to serve their functions in the best way.
5- extending the library resources to meet the students growing needs.
6- developing and activating research and holding various training seminars.
7- Completion the computerization all the college and ministerial progresses such as supplies ,accounting and personnel systems.
