Management Information Systems (MIS)

The department of Management Information Systems (MIS) was established in 2011 as a part of the Business College.
The department integrates academic and practical educational approaches and adopts applied research emphasis through a dedicated staff that aims at providing quality teaching through continuous enhancement efforts, student success, and community service.

Our vision is a dynamic, competent and competitive MIS department with unique inter-disciplinary major, aligned with the Business Faculty and university vision,
and the international standards.

Our mission is to combine technology skills and thorough ground in the functional area of business aligned with the best practice and international standards by providing
an accessible, diverse teaching and student-friendly instruction environment rich with opportunities to enhance knowledge, and to stimulate critical thinking skills.

  • Provide students with the needed skills in the areas of problem-solving, decision-making and other practical experiences by using the state of art and the most updated
    teaching methods.
  • Develop a positive character by nurturing an environment that fosters positive values, high ethical standards, a sense of personal responsibility, and self-discipline.
  • Correct the mismatch between demand and supply for MIS graduates by adopting and utilizing a curriculum responsive to the business needs, and aligned to
    the international standards and best practices.
  • Undertake comparative empirical and applied researches to deal with emerging and specialized issues in MIS field.
  • Recruit highly-qualified staff with advanced level of knowledge to enhance the teaching process and to provide the best way of knowledge transfer.
