Data Science
Data science is one of the modern disciplines and academic majors that combine mathematics, statistics, computer and artificial intelligence. It is one of the branches of information technology that is witnessing a rapid growth as companies and institutions around the world have begun to collect and analyse data on a large scale in many sectors.
The major aims to provide its graduates with general skills in computer science, data science skills, and smart analytics skills that are widely applicable in various fields. Data Science graduate can work in a wide range of modern and smart technical jobs that require a lot of data in different sectors such as business, finance, medicine, engineering, science, and the creative industries. As well, graduates majoring in Data Science can occupy the most important professional positions, including data scientist, data presentation engineer, business data analyst, data manager, and data engineer.
There is no doubt that the availability of specialists in data science discipline is very important in all parts of the world. This stems from an amounting need to make data flow easier to learn, access, and use in decision-making. Therefore, graduates of this academic major apply the scientific methodology basics of data science, including programming, artificial intelligence, mathematics, and statistics, to enable them to explore, analyse, and extract big data of governments and companies which take necessary measures to improve their performance and increase their profits. This academic major assists decision-makers in the higher administrations of companies and institutions by providing them with the statistics and information they need and presenting them in an easy and useful way.
In addition, there is a need for data science specialists to work in mathematical and political analysis. They are also required for analysing the data of media and social communication platforms through developing and building algorithms and models for processing data and extracting knowledge to explain the past and the present as well as predict the future. Therefore, establishing this academic major at the College of Artificial Intelligence at Al-Balqa Applied University comes as a response to the local and regional market needs to such professional graduates.

Information and Cyber Security
As discipline, Information and Cyber Security aims to prepare specialists and professionals in the field of information security and cyberspace. Specialists in Information and Cyber Security are needed for the local and regional market to protect information from internal and external risks. Students enrolled in this program are trained to apply best practices and prepare them for designing and implementing safe networks. They are also prepared to assess security in computer networks by examining various security, administrative, and commercial environments at the level of individuals and institutions. Graduates of this academic major can work in multiple profession in the government and private sectors, such as the technical support for network and information security, the management of network security, systems and tasks, the managing, planning and analysing cybersecurity systems- penetration testing, the security systems and software, the cybersecurity policies, cybersecurity consultation, the security for cloud applications or software, the cybersecurity risk.

Digital Forensics Investigations
The digital forensic specialization aims to prepare specialists in digital forensic investigations. This specialization includes materials and applications of digital forensics investigations and cyber legislation, in addition to statistics, mathematics, basic computer science and machine learning.
A graduate of this specialization can work for large corporations or security agencies in the public and private sectors as a criminal computing analyst, security and legal advisor, digital investigator, penetration test specialist, security operations center specialist and analyst, digital forensic analyst, mobile forensic analyst, fraud investigator, recovery data analyst, or security operations center specialist and analyst.
