About the Faculty of Agricultural Technology

A Royal Decree was issued to establish Al-Balqa Applied University on Rabi` Al-Thani 7, 1417 AH, corresponding to August 22, , 1996 AD. By a royal will, His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Mohammed was appointed Chairman of the Royal Committee of the University, and then Chairman of its Board of Trustees . In October 1997, the Higher Education Council issued Decision No. (1461) in its session No. (257) on 10/2/1997 AD, which included its approval of the establishment of the College of Agricultural Technology

The Aim of establishing the College of Agriculture Technology

The College of Agriculture Technology at Al-Balqa Applied University was established to provide educational programs that are marked by their integration with other academic majors in the Jordanian universities, in addition to the educational programs at the university level so that they focus on the applied technical aspect directed at preparing high-level agricultural engineers.
The college considers with great importance the development of its students’ capabilities for continuous education in the applied aspects of their scientific specializations to enable them to face the continuous changes in the labor market’s needs.
The college also seeks to enhance students’ ability to deal with scientific research tools and to search for information by facilitating modern technologies to advance their scientific level to keep pace with international levels and standards.
In compliance with the university's mission, the college seeks to partake to in comprehensive development of Jordanian society and the development of its human resources by equipping its students with science and developing the spirit of intellectual independence, personal initiative, team work and respect for manual work.

Vision

To be one of the high-quality institutions that introduces and disseminates new knowledge in formal and informal circles, participates in supplying the needs of the Jordanian society, and has the initiative to solve problems and improve the quality of life for all Jordanians.

Mission

To provide high-quality academic programs to prepare agricultural engineers to meet the future demands of the local and international labor market. This is in addition to providing high-quality applied scientific research that contributes to the development of the agricultural sector.

Goals

The college builds its objectives in accordance with the general vision of the Al-Balqa Applied University, which seeks to keep pace with scientific and technological development by offering academic programs that awards degrees in the field of agricultural sciences. The most important goals can be summed up as the following:

- Prepare agricultural engineers with a high level of applied scientific practical skills
Contribute to the progress of the local agricultural sector through applied research projects that partake in solving the most important problems facing farmer.
