Department of Water Resources and Environmental Management


This major is concerned with the integrated management of water resources and environmental systems, the economics of water and the environment, and the applications of geographic information systems in these two sectors. Moreover, students majoring in Water Resources Management and Environment are exposed and trained on skills that qualify them to compete in the labor market in the private sector and local and foreign non-governmental organizations and develop innovative business projects.

Mission
Excellence and sustainability in education, scientific research, and partnership with the local community to graduate skilled agricultural engineers to work in the public and private sectors and local and international NGOs to invest water and environmental resources efficiently to ensure their sustainability for current and future generations. The Faculty’s Vision

The Water Resources Management and Environment Department seeks to promote an environment of leadership and sustainability in the water and environmental sectors in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Objectives
  • The department integrates several fields of knowledge related to water, the environment, environmental systems, soil, air, waste management, environmental impact studies, environmental legislation and economics in order to graduate qualified agricultural engineers.
  • Improve the quality of teaching, scientific research and community partnership
  • Provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the pillars of sustainable development in Jordan - water and the environment
  • Develop students’ abilities to use the analytical approach in proposing practical, sustainable and cost-effective solutions to water and environmental problems that plague local communities and countries of the region
