Objectives
- To establish a Bachelor’s Degree program in Information Technology and Electronic Archiving to meet the growing demand for specialized skills in digital information management.
- To develop a Diploma program in Information Technology and Digital Archiving to support technical workforce needs in the field.
- To introduce a Digital Media diploma program to expand career pathways and keep pace with evolving technological and media trends.
- To conduct meaningful scientific research that makes a significant contribution to the field.
- To enhance academic and professional engagement through organizing lectures, training workshops, and scientific events in collaboration with leading information institutions, including the National Library, the University of Jordan Library, the Jordanian Libraries and Information Association, and the Abdul Hameed Shoman Library.
- To organize a purposeful art exhibition entitled “An Idea in a Painting.” The exhibition will feature artworks that embody concepts related to the fields of specialization. Current students and graduates will present and explain the content of their pieces, the latest developments in library and information science through colours, forms, and dimensions.
- To hold a scientific seminar entitled Information Security and Confidentiality. Coordination has been arranged with Dr. Nashrawan Al-Tahat, Assistant Professor of Information Science and Director of the University of Jordan Library. The college has issued an official invitation, and the lecturer will be invited one week after the midterm examinations conclude.
- To hold a Scientific Day in Library and Information Science at the end of the first semester, with Professor Nidal Al-Ahmad Ayasrah, Director of the National Library Department, as guest speaker. Initial contact has been made, and the date will be confirmed in due course. The program will include the following:
- The National Library: Present and Future.
- Contributions from faculty members in the field of specialization, scheduled approximately one month from now, with an official invitation to be sent once the date and time are confirmed.
- Student contributions, likewise, within a month, following coordination with the guest speaker.
- In addition, preparations are underway for a scientific lecture by visiting lecturer Dr. Rami Duwairi of the University of Jordan, titled (Information Marketing,) which addresses topics such as self-marketing and labor market requirements, scheduled for December 2021. An official invitation will be sent once the date and time are confirmed.
In addition to the activities related to the national days, which are officially covered by the university administration, as well as the new activities and events that will raise our educational outcomes.
