About the College

Amman University College for Financial and Managerial Science is considered the oldest institution in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan since it was established in 1951 under the name Teachers House affiliated to the ministry of education. In 1965 the name of the college was changed to Teachers Institute and remained so till 1981 where it was turned to Amman Community College. In 1997 it was affiliated to Al-Balqa Applied University (BAU) and becomes to know Amman University College for Financial and Managerial Science. In 2017 the college was relocated to Shafa Badran district with total lands’ area of about 20000 square meter. The number of the academic staff is 97 with administrative staff of 107. The total numbers of enrolled students for the academic year 2023/2024 is 4398 distributed as: 144 graduate students, 2635 undergraduate students and 1588 diploma students.

Goals

The main objectives of Amman University College are as follows :
  • Providing all services to keep pace with the tremendous information and technological development in the field of business study
  • The advancement of the college in particular and the university in general to modernize information and create databases.
  • Raising the level of the individual in the use of various general and specialized accounting systems programs through training courses
  • Contributing to the development and success of the educational process by providing technical consultations on administrative and accounting information systems to the local community and providing devices, equipment, means and programs that help increase the effectiveness of the educational offer. As well as by facilitating communication between the college and its students through the Internet.
  • Contributing to the development of scientific research by providing technical consultations in scientific calculations and statistical studies of the results of scientific researches, as well as by facilitating browsing the public information network to view the latest scientific developments in all fields
  • Achieving financial profit - as a unit of a special nature - to contribute in community service and environmental development through the college and the university center
  • Providing academic degrees and training certificates for employment in specialized fields
  • Involving the community as an effective source or participant in the educational process and the spread of knowledge.
  • Providing services to the industrial and business sectors that will achieve economic development
  • Encouraging all new administrative policies that would improve the educational process.

First: The academic degrees awarded by the College

Second: Academic departments in the College:-

  1. Department of Business Administration.

  3. Department of Banking and Financial Sciences.
  4. Department of Accounting and Accounting Information Systems.
  5. Department of Basic Sciences.

Third: College facilities:-

  • Library: The library includes a total of (23,301) references distributed across the fields of knowledge (mainly related to the academic specializations) and distributed as follows: -
    • Arabic and English (7500) books
  • Health Clinic: The college clinic employs two doctors, two nurses, an assistant nurse, a pharmacist, a pharmacy assistant, and an administrator who provides medical services and first aid to the college students and its academic and administrative staff.
  • Educational laboratories: There are (10) computer laboratories in the college containing a total number of (210) computers for teaching and training the students and holding computer courses in various specializations, including an (Internet) laboratory to serve the college’s students and the local community.
  • Teaching halls: The number of teaching halls is a total of (36).
  • Cafeteria: Modern and equipped with all means of comfort, it includes two halls: a hall for female students and a common hall.
  • The mosque and the prayer hall: The College is proud to have a separate mosque that serves the students and the neighboring local community, in addition to establishing a small prayer hall for female students inside the mosque.
  • Theater (Petra Hall): A university theater is constructed and which is equipped with the latest advanced and sophisticated audio and visual means.

Fourth: the College’s achievements, activities, and future aspirations:

  1. Establishing a special meeting room for the College Council and its committees equipped with all the latest means.
  2. Establishing a modern theater for the college which is equipped with the latest advanced audio and visual means.
  3. Establishing a new student clinic building equipped with the latest medical equipment.
  4. Computerization of all administrative departments, such as: the Bureau - Personnel Affairs - Accounting - Registration - Library.
  5. Developing a data control hall (server) and increasing Internet speed to 4 megabits.
  6. Modernizing and maintaining the college buildings, courtyards, and various facilities.
  7. Developing study plans for the academic specializations of the bachelor’s program.
  8. Amending the study plan for the Business Administration/Master’s program and seeking to expand by offering new specializations.
  9. Developing the existing computer laboratories and providing the advanced LCD computers.
  10. Holding specialized training courses for college students,Professors, administrators, and members of the local community.
  11. Trying to attract students from neighboring Arab countries
  12. Seeking to organize a permanent annual exhibition for jobs and technology through the contribution of major companies in Jordan.
  13. Linking the registration, withdrawal and addition process via the Internet to facilitate such processes for the students.
  14. Installing a wireless network for students.
  15. Establishing a special office concerned with the affairs of international students and following up on their affairs.
  16. A permanent headquarters was established for the Student Scientific Society.
