Faculty of Engineering

About

The Faculty of Engineering was established in 1997, and teaching began at the bachelor’s level in the specializations of Materials Engineering and Metallurgy, Surveying and Geomatics Engineering for the academic year (1998/1999), and at the beginning of the academic year (2002/2003) the Computer Engineering Department was established.
The Faculty then expanded to offer new specializations for the bachelor’s level to also include: Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Electrical Energy Engineering, where teaching began for the academic year (2013/2014).
In the academic year (2020/2021), the specialty of Civil Engineering/Construction and Civil Engineering/Surveying and Geomatics was merged into one Department, which is the Department of Civil Engineering, as well as the specialty of Electrical Engineering/Computer and the specialty of Electrical Engineering/Electrical Power in the Department of Electrical Engineering. The number of Faculty students currently exceeds (2000) students, and the number of Faculty members is about (60), in addition to about (60) members of the administrative staff.
The Faculty of Engineering also paid great attention to graduate studies, as it opened a master’s program in the field of Materials and Metallurgy Engineering, and graduated its first class (14 students) in the academic year (2004/2005). With the beginning of the academic year (2020/2021), students began to be accepted into the Master’s program in Geomatics Engineering.
