Chemical Engineering Department

The Department of Chemical Engineering has been established at Al-Huson College since the establishment of Al-Balqa Applied University. The Department is composed of qualified teaching staff from Faculty members, engineers, technicians and laboratory supervisors in various disciplines and includes laboratories and workshops equipped with the best equipment to serve the programs offered by the Department.
The Department of Chemical Engineering currently has two chemical engineering programs, Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Industries Engineering, and Diploma of Chemical industries technology, which seek to qualify and train students with the essential skills to apply chemical engineering sciences in the industrial and academic labor market. The focus is on teaching the basics of chemical engineering science and its applications in various fields and acquiring design and analytical skills for its students.

Continuing to provide distinguished education in chemical engineering and upgrading the educational process through innovation, community service and applied scientific research, in order to meet the needs of all sectors that require knowledge in this specialization.
Department Mission
Preparing qualified graduates equipped with modern technical knowledge and adequate skills to work in all areas of chemical engineering face future challenges and community service. And that is through developing relations with the industrial sectors and promoting applied scientific research.
Department Objectives:
The objectives of the teaching programs in the Chemical Engineering Department are to provide students with the following:
  • The ability to understand mathematical and scientific basics, and basic engineering principles needed to solve problems in manufacturing processes, evaluation, and design of chemical processes.
  • Skills related to experimentation, teamwork, open-ended problem-solving, critical thinking, and learning permanence.
  • Communication skills, English and Arabic languages, and awareness of professional ethics and safety practices.
  • Understanding the environmental, social and economic aspects of the profession.
  • The ability to practice academic principles in industry.
