Department of Civil Engineering - Water and Environment

The Department of Civil Engineering - Water and Environment is one of the distinguished departments dedicated to preparing civil engineers specializing in water and environmental fields. It offers outstanding academic programs that integrate theoretical foundations with practical applications, aiming to equip professionals capable of addressing environmental challenges and efficiently managing water resources.
The Bachelor’s degree is awarded upon completing the academic plan, which consists of 162 credit hours, including a mandatory field engineering training of no less than 280 hours.
Additionally, the department offers an Intermediate Diploma in Road Surveying and Quantity Calculation, which requires the completion of 72 credit hours in addition to a mandatory field engineering training of no less than 140 hours. And successful passage of the comprehensive exam.
The department has a highly qualified academic team, including faculty members, engineers, technicians, and laboratory supervisors specializing in various civil engineering disciplines. It also features state-of-the-art laboratories and workshops equipped with the latest technologies and tools to support its academic programs, ensuring they meet the demands of the local and regional job markets.

The department aims to prepare engineers with advanced technical and scientific skills that enable them to address environmental and water-related challenges. This is accomplished by providing a stimulating educational environment that supports scientific research and technological development while fostering collaboration with various sectors to ensure the sustainability of natural resources.

Department Objectives:

  1. Qualifying graduates with outstanding scientific and practical skills in the field of water and environmental engineering.
  2. Preparing professionals capable of designing and implementing sustainable infrastructure projects.
  3. Supporting entrepreneurship and innovation in the fields of civil engineering, water, and the environment.
  4. Enhancing scientific research and development in water desalination technologies through the specialized master’s program.
  5. Preparing qualified professionals in road surveying and quantity estimation to meet infrastructure project needs through the intermediate diploma program.
  6. Expanding partnerships with public and private sectors to utilize the outcomes of the master's and diploma programs in national and international projects.
