Mechanical Engineering Department

The Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 1986 and is considered one of the most prominent and largest departments in the college in terms of the number of academic programs offered. The department contributes to supporting other departments and is distinguished by the diversity of its academic programs, offering four undergraduate specialties and four intermediate diploma specialties. The department grants bachelor's and diploma degrees in various engineering disciplines, with an emphasis on combining theoretical and practical aspects.
The practical component is considered a key element in the education and training process, as the department includes a range of laboratories and engineering workshops equipped with the latest technologies.
The curriculum aligns with the requirements and accreditation standards for engineering, ensuring that students are excellently prepared for professional and academic paths. Faculty members in the department conduct advanced scientific research in various fields, including fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, renewable energy, quality control, modeling, experimental design, manufacturing, materials science, water desalination, and plant design. These research papers have been published in prestigious peer-reviewed journals and prominent international conferences.The department boasts a distinguished teaching staff at the university level, combining extensive teaching experience and solid research output. The department has 20 faculty members distributed across all academic ranks, including professors, associate professors, assistant professors, full-time lecturers, and instructors with master's degrees.
