Department of Public and Private Law

The Department of Public and Private Law in the College of Law aims to prepare highly qualified graduates excelled in their knowledge, cultural and legal formation to meet the growing needs of society in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and in the Arab countries. The department as well aims to equip students with necessary skills for the work of the judiciary, advocacy, legal advice and other legal professions.

The Department of Public and Private Law seeks to hold a distinguished position among the departments of law faculties at the local, Arab, regional and international levels and work to gain the confidence of all by providing a stable environment for education, scientific research and community service.

Department Mission

The mission of the Public and Private Law Department seeks to implant and spread culture of justice, raise awareness about rights human rights and obligations, and pay attention to legal research based on the crystallization of ideas in a way that contributes to addressing the issues afflicting society.

Objectives

Create appropriate scientific environment that enhances for creativity in the various branches of legal sciences, by adopting advanced methods that contribute to the preparation of qualified and trained staff in practicing legal business and familiarity with the latest developments in the field of law
provide graduates, through continuous education, with the skills to gain scientific experience that enables them to invest legal knowledge by relying in their immediate efforts and hone the basic capabilities that enable them to keep pace with legal developments
Effectively contribute to spreading and developing levels of legal culture in society through lectures and seminars for specialists in the field of law for various state departments and governmental and non-governmental institutions
Provide legal and specialized advice such as explaining laws, expressing legal opinions on judicial decisions and rulings, and providing legal advice and information to those who wish to achieve justice and reveal the truth
Encourage students to conduct scientific research in all areas of legal field through writing and publishing scientific research
