Faculty of Medicine Laboratories

Our faculty has several laboratories that serve various purposes. These laboratories include teaching, research, computer, and clinical skills laboratories. Some laboratories are ready and functional, while others are furnished with the equipment.
The teaching laboratories include anatomy, histology, pathology, physiology, and microbiology. Anatomy laboratories are equipped with all the necessary tools and models for teaching anatomy, including refrigerators, anatomy tools needed for autopsy, plastic models, human models, and a 3D anatomy table for virtual autopsy (Anatomage Table). The histology and pathology laboratories are equipped with the necessary microscopes for the teachers and students and a set of educational slides. Physiology laboratories contain many medical devices, such as sphygmomanometers, spirometers, electrocardiograms, data acquisition systems, ... etc., to conduct physiological experiments. To perform basic microbiological experiments, the microbiology laboratories contain all the necessary equipment, such as incubators, sterilizers, centrifuges, refrigerators, rotors, ovens, water baths, microscopes, mixers, and apparatus.
As for research laboratories, the building contains 12 research laboratories, which are available to faculty members. The research laboratories are fully equipped to conduct laboratory research experiments. Some research laboratories have grants to allow faculty members to conduct their research according to their needs. Some laboratories have the equipment to serve as basic research laboratories. The college building contains six computer laboratories equipped with 290 computers. Another six computer labs are being prepared to receive an additional 215 computers to increase the total capacity to more than 500 computers. Computer laboratories have also provided automated tests. In addition, a computer lab can be used for online sessions.
The clinical skills lab is set up to provide hands-on clinical learning experiences before practicing with actual patients. The laboratory provides students with the necessary techniques (bedside examination skills and some practical clinical procedures). The laboratory has a set of models for some skills, patient simulators, abdominal training models, and other tools. In addition, the laboratory has OSCE stations for delivering OSCE exams and a lecture hall.
