Department of Public Health and Community Medicine

The Department of Public Health and Community Medicine is a clinical department that aims to qualify medical students in the field of preventive medicine, such as epidemic control, occupational health, international health and travellers' health, environmental health, maternal and child health, reproductive health, and other activities, that depend on the concept of health promotion and disease prevention through primary health care.
The department also trains future doctors on the basic knowledge of community medicine in performing research projects that help decision-makers set appropriate health policies. We are also working on training doctors to use evidence-based medicine. In addition, our department staff provide public lectures and involve students in medical research.
Since the establishment of the faculty in 2015, the Department of Public Health and Community Medicine, through its faculty and administrative staff, has played a significant role in promoting the health of residents locally and nationally, by providing professional consultations, providing health education, and participating in national and international projects and grants.
