About the College

Dean’s Message
Welcome to Prince Abdullah bin Ghazi faculty of Information Technology. I am really honored and privileged to serve as the dean this faculty.
The mission of our school is to provide our students with an excellent level of education that emphasizes learning-by-doing, employing talented faculty members and up-to-date facilities. We strive to provide our community with graduates who are technically well-prepared, have excellent work ethics, appreciate life-long learning, and are capable of contributing to the information technology market effectively.
The information revolution produces many enabling technologies that make wireless communication, pervasive computing, service-oriented computing, data warehousing, and other advanced applications in all aspects of life. Our bachelor and master degree curricula along with the research conducted in our school are based on this fact.
It is worth mentioning that we are the first in Jordan to have a school of IT in Jordan. This started back in 1997 under the name of Faculty of Science and Information Technology.

Vision
The vision of Prince Abdullah bin Ghazi Faculty of Information Technology is to become one of the leading faculties in the IT sector that contributes towards building a knowledge-based society, promote scientific research and provide quality community-based services to reach the top ranked universities.
Mission
Providing high-quality academic programs to prepare qualified human capital in order to meet the future demands on the labor market. Moreover, the faculty mission is to provide scientific research linked to the problems of the local and international communities that lead to significant contribution towards to the global development of information technology.


Objectives

The objectives of Prince Abdullah Ben Ghazi Faculty of Information technology are in line with the aims of the university, to keep up with the scientific and technological advancement, through offering academic programs that lead to scientific degrees in the field of computer science. The most important of these aims are:
  1. Supply the industrial market with distinguished graduates that posse’s high scientific skills and practical experience in order to meet the Jordanian market needs.
  2. Involving the country in the IT and communication revolution through offering academic programs in the field of technology and computer science.
  3. Focus on the practical aspect of teaching and providing scientific skills for graduates.
  4. Guide the academic programs into the requirements of the market through training and focusing on building individual skills.

Laboratories

In order to achieve the goals of Al-Balqa Applied University, the college sought to relate academic programs with their applied fields, and to equip specialized scientific laboratories for the materials they offer in various fields of computer science. The number of laboratories in this college is 12 specialized laboratories, which keep pace with the latest technological development in this field.
