The Department of Special Education at Princess Rahma University College was established in 1982 as the first department that offers the BA in Special Education in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in order to meet the needs of the local, regional and international labor market and in response to the high demand on specialists in special education who are able to compete locally, regionally and internationally.
The Department of Special Education has a group of distinguished Ph.D. academic faculty members who earned their degrees from prestigious Jordanian, Arab and foreign universities, who are specialized in Special Education, Educational Psychology, Counseling, and Mental Health.

- Applied Higher Diploma in Learning Disabilities
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education.
- Bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology.
- Intermediate diploma in measuring and diagnosing autism.
The department is looking forward to opening specializations at the master's level in Autism, Early intervention, Integrator Education, and Clinical Psychology.
The department also holds many seminars, lectures and training workshops for the local community members, schoolteachers, workers in Special Education Centers, and workers
in the surrounding Social Work Centers. It also provides free counseling services in the field of Special Education, Psychology as well as counseling for parents, schools and special
education centers in the region and other regions in the Kingdom or even in other neighboring countries.
The department is committed to reach a high level of competition at the local, regional, and international levels. As it is a distinguished expertise house that graduates specialized
workers in Special Education who can fulfill the community needs in the field of Special Education at the academic and practical levels.
