The Department of Mathematics at Al-Balqa Applied University is the latest among the mathematics departments in local universities. It was established in 2008 in the Faculty of Science to offer a mathematics program for the bachelor’s level (BSC), and in 2017 it began offering a mathematics program for the master’s level (MSC). And despite that, it ranked first among its peers locally, ranked ninth in the Arab world, (16) at the level of the Middle East, and (376) globally, according to the (Scimago) world classification for the year 2021.
This is due to the department's distinction of a group of distinguished faculty members at the local and international levels in various knowledge fields, and the focus of study plans on the applied aspects of mathematics, statistics to keep pace with scientific development, and Labor market needs. The Department of Mathematics includes 16 faculty members who hold doctoral and master’s degrees in various sub-specialties of mathematics, 5 endure a professor's degree, 3 be an associate professor's degree, 5 remain an assistant professor's degree, and 3 hold a master's degree.
