 Faculty of Engineering Technology
Department of Chemical Engineering

The Department of Chemical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering Technology (FET) at Al-Balqa Applied University was established in 1975 to award a diploma degree in Chemical Industries. In 1988, a BSc program was started in Applied Engineering which became later a BSc in Chemical Industries Engineering in 1995.
The Department of Chemical Engineering at the BAU (in FET) provides two degrees in Chemical Engineering: Bachelor of Chemical Industries Engineering and Diploma of Chemical Industries Technology. These degree programs are intended to train and prepare students for the practice of their profession in industries and academia. Both programs concentrate on the basics of chemical engineering sciences and applications in different fields where students will gain both design and analysis skills. The department has a qualified group of academic staff of both MSc and PhD holders graduated from distinguished universities in various fields of specialization
The department awards the following academic degrees:
  • Bachelor of Chemical Engineering./Chemical Industries Engineering
  • Intermediate University Degree: Chemical Industry Technology
The number of students on study seats
  • Bachelor's degree: (465) male and female students
  • Intermediate university degree: (80) male and female students

Vision

We will build on our long tradition of excellence to be the leading chemical engineering program in partnership with our students, alumni, industry, and government. We will provide our students with educational experiences that will enable them to become leaders in their profession and society. We will maintain and develop world-class research programs that complement our educational mission, address the evolving needs of industry and society, and contribute to economic and social development in the Jordan, across the nation, and around the world.

Mission

The Chemical engineering Department will serve its students, industry and society by fulfilling the missions of discovery, learning, and engagement through the creation, dissemination, and application of chemical engineering methods, knowledge, and professional standards relevant to the practice of chemical engineering in the many aspects of modern life where it plays a crucial role
