CIRU looks forward to advancing BAU to a prominent position among the world's leading educational and research institutions and raising its profile internationally in the fields of education, training, and scientific research.

Mission

The mission of CIRU is to introduce the university at various levels and manage its partnerships in a manner that serves the university's strategic objectives to contribute to the achievement of the sustainable development goals by supporting faculty, administrative and academic staff, and students at BAU and enabling them to develop their skills in the fields of education, training, and scientific research so that they may acquire a prominent place on the world stage. Through providing opportunities for collaboration and exchange with our existing network of relations, establishing new partnerships and long-term strategic agreements.

Responsibilities:

CIRU is primarily responsible for initiating, coordinating, and maintaining BAU’s local and international partnerships. CIRU is also tasked with promoting BAU’s positioning locally and globally, and overseeing all BAU mobilities. The following sums up CIRU’s tasks:
  1. Establishing channels of communication with local and international institutions, universities, and relevant associations in order to explore opportunities for local, regional, and international cooperation in diverse fields
    of education, scientific research, and culture, including capacity building, academic and student exchange, and academic and student grants.
  2. Developing, overseeing, archiving, and maintaining draft agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoU) with a variety of local and international organizations. In addition to following up on implementation by
    the concerned faculties within the university and assessing them based on monthly activation reports for the purpose of future reactivation.
  3. Supervising the work of international professionals and academics present at BAU, and managing international projects localized by the unit in with the different partners.
  4. Introducing academic and administrative staff, and students at BAU to all available opportunities within scientific and research projects, academic and student exchange, external training, capacity building, and
    scholarships through international agreements and programs in collaboration with external donors throughout awareness sessions and workshops.
  5. Following up on the academic and student affairs of BAU, and internationals throughout the exchange programs over the exchange term.
  6. Introducing BAU at regional and international levels to recruit Arab and international students to study at BAU by communicating with the international relations departments of other institutions.
  7. Networking with prestigious international universities in order to explore opportunities for cooperation in the development of (dual programs) in accordance with the emerging internationalization of academic
    programs and the regulations of Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission for Higher Education Institutions (AQACHEI).
  8. Any other duties delegated by the Al-Balqa Applied University President.
