Physics Department

The department of physics was established within other departments in Faculty of Science at the beginning of the second semester of 2009/2010. However, the department itself was one of the basic departments of science in the faculty. The department had designated its syllabuses to keep up with the advancement in physical sciences and the needs of labor market, so to prepare qualified human resources whom able to contribute in the process of scientific development as well as to be effective and productive in their society and life. The syllabus includes theoretical and practical characterized subjects aimed to build a wide knowledge base for the graduates that make them familiar with scientific concepts and be able to practice on different measurement devices effectively.
The department is comprises number of staff members who are specialized in different applied and theoretical experiences, in addition to number of qualified laboratories technicians. The department also consists of numbers of well- equipped laboratories that serve teaching goals, beside numbers of laboratories for scientific researches that are well equipped to serve both the postgraduate students and the staff members of the department.

Vision

To provide knowledge in field of physics by transferring to the students throughout a distinctive educational environment to meet the national goals.

To serve the national goals and support the industrial, research and educational sectors with well trained and highly qualified graduates in field of physics by:
  • Continuous updating of teaching methodologies.
  • Providing students with core scientific information and wide range of skills necessary for competition in labor market.
  • Directing research outcomes of the staff members and the postgraduate students to meet the national goals and visions.
