The field of information technology is experiencing rapid changes, making it both essential and challenging to keep up with technology. Information and communications technology (ICT) has become a cornerstone for the advancement and growth of societies. Consequently, the Jordan-Korea Information and Communications Technology Center was established on December 17, 2017, at Al-Balqa Applied University, as a starting point for ICT, with a donation from the Korean National Information Society Agency (NIA). The center aims to provide modern ICT tools to facilitate access to information and services for faculty, staff, students, and the local community.
Accordingly, the Jordan-Korea Center is responsible for developing training programs aligned with the latest ICT advancements and for ongoing planning and improvement.
The mission of the Jordan-Korea Information and Communications Technology Center is to offer innovative, high-quality, and reliable technological services and solutions to the university community. The center supports the university's strategic goals by utilizing information technology and exploring emerging technologies. The center also seeks to continue building and strengthening partnerships with university departments to understand their needs and objectives better. Additionally, the center hosts various events, including international conferences, seminars, and workshops organized by different university faculties, centers, and units. The center's advanced facilities have facilitated effective global communication among academics participating in these events with their peers worldwide.
Furthermore, the Jordan-Korea Center aims to introduce advanced technology to local communities to enhance knowledge and information access. This includes fostering cooperation and knowledge exchange in ICT, with a focus on government employees aged 40-45, school children (future leaders), women entrepreneurs, small and home-based business owners, and individuals with special needs, particularly in underprivileged areas of Balqa Governorate. The goal is to develop and enhance their technological skills and capabilities
