Department of Applied Sciences
The department of applied sciences was established in the year 1980/1981 before the issuing of the royal decree through which AlBalqa Applied University was established. This department belonged to the Ministry of Higher Education but after Albalqa University was established, it started to belong to Al Salt faculty for human sciences
The department awards the diploma in the following applied majors: 1. Plant production 2. Graphic design 3. Interior design 4. Libraries and information 5. Information technology 6. Vocational education

Vision
The department looks to the growing development in academic construction and distinguished scientific research in the various applied sciences and the introduction of various applied programs which serve society and achieve the university’s strategies in their local and national dimensions

Mission
Reinforcing the concept of applied majors and emphasizing their importance locally and globally, and directing high school graduates to such majors in order to decrease unemployment in job market
Objectives
Our objectives are to:
- Advancing the level of the department’s graduates academically and vocationally and providing the local community with distinguished graduates who are able to contribute in development in accordance with society’s needs.
- Concentrating on training students in the public and private sectors since this gives students the chance to acquire the necessary skills and get involved in the practical life after graduation.
- Supporting and developing faculty members
- Presenting service to local community through offering training courses.
