About
Irbid University College (IUC) was established in Irbid in 1978. It was first an Institute for Female Teachers. It belonged to the Ministry of Education, and in 1980, it was turned to an intermediate community college. In 1985, the Ministry of Higher Education was created and the college was directed and supervised by the Ministry of Higher Education. In 1997, when Balqa' Applied University (BAU) was established, Irbid College was affiliated to (BAU). Therefore, the college has become under the umbrella of Balqa' Applied University with the aim of preparing human resources who would be academically and technically qualified and practically trained at both university and intermediate levels to meet the different needs and requirements of the local community.
The college has worked hard to provide instructional services and facilities. This enabled it to supply the public and private schools of the kingdom as well as neighbouring countries with tens of female teachers.
While the college has been following confident and solid steps since its establishment, it is working to gradually develop its programs, taking into consideration the needs of society and the labor market to contribute to addressing the unemployment problem.
The college has planned to hold many meetings to increase the interaction with the local community by involving the private sector in developing its programs and majors. At the same time, the college holds optimistic vision toward the future, as this college has highly qualified faculty members in various majors, which makes it able to meet the needs of the teaching process, in line with the college’s strategic plan within the vision of Al-Balqa Applied University.
