Maan College is a medium university college which was founded in 1989, in order to provide an opportunity for successful students in public high schools of the Southern Region to complete their university studies to fill the shortfall in some academic disciplines, which was experienced by the education sector and the labor market in the province. In 08/22/1996 AD, a Royal Decree was issued to establish Balqa Applied University, which came to control the average university education and working to promote its academic level .Maan college joined the University of Balqa Applied university administratively, financially and academically in 01/01/1998 which provided the college with a new start on the level of study, programs, human resources and supporting facilities. Maan College is on the road to Athroh, the famous arbitration site in the Arab Islamic history. It is about 7 kms away from Maan city centre towards Petra, the eighth archaeological milestone in the world, and is adjacent to the permanent site of Alhussein ibn Talal University.

Maan college current building is established on 439 acres and is a part of the permanent project which will include other buildings distributed as : classrooms , college deanship , engineering workshops ,student hostels , teaching board section , independent library ,cafeteria ,Gym ,mosque and other facilities that will totally be a milestone and a monument educationally ambitious to meet college needs and future expansion plans capable of being developed into a university college which grants bachelor's degree in some technical disciplines.
