Monitoring the Ambient Air in Rashadiya

Jordan Cement Company owns two plants; Fuhais plant which is located west of Amman and Rashadyia plant which is located 200 Km south of Amman.
These plant shavethelargestproductioncapacityofcementin Jordan,withannualproductionof4.6milliontonsofcement.
Cement manufacturing which includes mining, production and handling process may produce dust. Jordan Cement Company executed many projectsforenvironmentalimprovementsinbothplantstoprotectthehuman settlementsandtheenvironmentaroundbothplants.
To study the impact of these two projects in terms of ambient air, an agreement with Balqa Applied University/Faculty of Agriculture Technology asascientificpartytoexecuteprogramforambientairmonitoringatFuhais&Rashadyiaonacontinuousbasis,theresultsofthismonitoringprogram willguidetoevaluatethelevelsofdustintheambientair.ButsinceAugust ofthisyear2016, themonitoringprocessconfinedinRashidiyabecausethe productioninFuhaisceased
The project started June 2006, Balqa Applied Universityrepresented by Agriculture Faculty act as a third party to monitor ambient airon continuous basis in Fuhais and Rashadiyya, the results daily sent to Ministry of Environment and Jordan Cement Company.
Themainobjectiveofthisprojectistomonitortheconcentrationof dustintheambientaironcontinuouslybasisandsenddailyreportsto the Ministry of Environment and Lafarge Company in order toidentify anyexceedancesleadtoairpollution.
Since 1/8/2016, monitoring process was confined to the area of Rashadiya
