Welcome to
Control and Internal Audit Unit
The Internal Control Unit was created in early 2017 to strengthen the university’s oversight and governance framework. In accordance with Internal Control System No. (3) of 2011 and its amendments, which states that the unit should be directly connected to the highest administrative authority, we have ensured that the Director of the Internal Control Unit reports directly to the Board of Trustees. This strategic alignment enhances the unit’s capacity to effectively fulfill its responsibilities. To better reflect our commitment to International Auditing Standards, we have rebranded the Internal Control Unit as the Internal Audit and Control Unit.
Al-Balqa Applied University has always been dedicated to upholding the principles of accountability and integrity. In pursuit of this mission, the Internal Audit and Control Unit was established as a cornerstone of our governance structure. By reporting directly to the Board of Trustees, the unit is empowered with the independence necessary to conduct its duties impartially and with integrity
Our operations are guided by a comprehensive plan, approved by the Board of Trustees, which covers thorough audits of all financial, administrative, and technical aspects across the university’s colleges, units, departments, and centers. These audits adhere strictly to the professional standards (International Auditing Standards), focusing on minimizing risks and ensuring compliance with the university’s legal and regulatory frameworks. Our ultimate goal is to assess, improve, and enhance the efficiency of performance and the quality of outcomes across the university.
In short, the Internal Audit and Control Unit is not just a tool for oversight; it is a vital partner to senior management, serving as a vigilant guardian that helps to identify and rectify any areas of concern, all without an overemphasis on fault-finding.
