Dr. Hamad Adel AlKhatatbeh is a Jordanian academic and researcher. He earned his PhD in Horticulture and Crops from the University of Jordan in 2024, with a very good grade, a Master's degree in Plant Production (Horticulture and Crops) from the Jordan University of Science and Technology in 2021, with an excellent grade, and a Bachelor's degree in Plant Production from Mutah University in 2015, with a very good grade.
Dr. Al-Khatatbeh currently works as an assistant professor in the Department of Plant Production and Protection at Shobak University College, Al-Balqa' Applied University. He also served as head of the department at the Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) from 2016 for nine years.
He has been involved in numerous academic and research activities, serving as a research and teaching assistant at the University of Jordan and as a member of the Plant Stress Laboratory team at the same university.
His research focuses on plant physiology, genetic diversity, and the impact of environmental stresses such as salinity and drought on plants, particularly olives. He has published several research papers in international peer-reviewed journals, including a study on the transcriptome analysis of olives under stress conditions in Frontiers in Plant Science, and research on the plastid genome of Prosopis species in the Iraqi Journal of Agricultural Sciences.

Research Intersets:
We are engaged with functional genomics of plant abiotic stresses including salinity, drought and heat. Major species we are investigating include wheat, tomato, olive, common fig and saltbush.
