He received the BSc degree in plant production science in 1995 followed by the MSc degree in Horticulture in 1997 from The University of Jordan, Jordan. The PhD was granted from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, United States of America in 2010 in the field of Horticulture. Dr. Qrunfleh joined the academic staff at the Dept. of Plant Production and Protection at BAU and his main responsibilities include teaching courses for students specializing in plant production as well as conducting scientific research. Dr. Qrunfleh was appointed to several administrative positions including: Assistant Dean for the Agricultural Research Station, Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance, an assistant for the Vice President for Academic Affairs at BAU and Head of the Department of Plant Production and Protection. Currently, Dr. Qrunfleh is the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Technology. Dr. Qrunfleh has published more than 25 research articles in refereed scientific journals. Most of his research emphasizes on using nonconventional water resources for irrigation purposes such as brackish water. Moreover, his research focuses on mixing low quality water (e.g. brackish water) with conventional quality irrigation water in ratios to keep the salinity of the irrigated soils below the threshold of the target crop as an acceptable irrigation management practice. Dr. Qrunfleh also attended many local and international conferences, gave lectures to the public, and gave many training workshops. Dr. Qrunfleh is also a member of specialized organizations dealing in horticulture.
