Malik Braik is an associate professor at Al-Balqa Applied University's Computer Science Department in Al-Salt, Jordan. He earned his B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from Jordan University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Engineering, Jordan in 2000. Five years later, he received his M.Sc. degree in computer science from Al-Balqa Applied University, Department of Information Technology, Jordan. Nine years later, he completed his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Birmingham, the U.K. He has published over 100 publications in international journals and conferences. He was listed as one of the top 2% of top-cited scientists in the world according to Stanford University indicator in 2023 and 2024. His research interests include Optimization, Feature Selection, Evolutionary Computation, Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Control and System Identification, Computational Intelligence, Image Processing (Enhancement, Segmentation, and Edge Detection), and Meta-heuristic Algorithms. He is currently working in the Department of Computer Science, Prince Abdullah bin Ghazi Faculty of Communications and Information Technology, Al-Balqa Applied University, Al-Salt, Jordan. He has ranked in the top 2\% of scientists in the world in a study conducted by Stanford University for the years 2023 and 2024.
