Raed A. Qassas is an Assistant Professor of English Literature at Al-Balqa Applied University. He previously taught at Taibah University for six years and Ajloun National University for one year. He has instructed courses in British and American literature, Shakespearean Drama, Literary Theory, and Translation. His research focuses on literary theory and interpretation, with a PhD in this field obtained in 2016. He authored a book on suicide in Shakespearean tragedies in 2011 and published an article in 2020 on narrative motifs of violence in "Waiting for the Barbarians."

My research interests revolve around literary theory, the Victorian novel, nineteenth-century literature, and Shakespearean drama, exploring the profound cultural and historical significance of these works and their interconnected themes through a critical lens of issues such as class distinctions, gender roles, and industrialization, reflecting and challenging the complexities of nineteenth-century society. Similarly, Shakespearean drama remains a timeless exploration of the human experience, with works such as Hamlet and Macbeth revealing complex emotional, political, and philosophical dimensions. By examining these plays through frameworks such as psychoanalysis and feminism, I reveal their enduring relevance and how they transcend historical boundaries. Literary theory provides essential tools to analyze these texts, employing approaches such as Marxism, post-structuralism, and feminism to deepen understanding of power dynamics, identity, and meaning.
