Assistant Professor in horticulture and crop science/ Plant biotechnology in the Biotechnology Department, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, Al Balqa Applied University. My specialization in plant biotechnology has allowed me to search into various aspects of this discipline, including genetic diversity, DNA fingerprinting, molecular markers, plant micropropagation, and gene mapping. Additionally, my interest extends to the conservation of plant genetic resources, and the study of medicinal plants, recognizing their importance in sustainable agriculture and food security. Throughout my career, I have made significant contributions to the field through my research, resulting in several publications in esteemed journals focusing on plant production and biotechnology.
In addition to my research pursuits, I have been entrusted with leadership responsibilities as the Dean's assistant for quality assurance in the faculty of Agricultural Technology for two years. In this role, I have played a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of education and research excellence within the institution. Furthermore, I have actively contributed to the academic community by organizing workshops, seminars, and conferences, providing platforms for knowledge exchange and professional networking within the agricultural community. Additionally, my involvement in various committees related to agricultural curricula development and education strategies reflects my commitment to advancing educational initiatives and fostering innovation in the field.
With over long period of teaching experience, I have had the privilege of instructing a diverse range of courses, including biodiversity, plant biotechnology, plant genetics, food biotechnology, microbial biotechnology, plant breeding, plant tissue culture, plant genetic resources, and environment and society. Moreover, I have taught foundational courses in biotechnology, and general biology, emphasizing hands-on learning and critical thinking that equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to address the challenges facing our world.
In summary, my extensive experience in academia, coupled with my expertise in plant biotechnology, and related disciplines, positions me as a dedicated educator and researcher in the field of biotechnology. I am driven by a passion for exploring plant science, engaged in multidisciplinary research, and leveraging this knowledge to address challenges in agriculture and pave the way for a sustainable future.
